just before clinching a win for his documentaries on Wrexham. Expressing his bewilderment at the scheduling conflict, the Hollywood actor and co-owner of Wrexham A.F.C. questioned, “Who schedules the Emmys on the same night as the @eagles?” alongside the hashtags ‘#gobirds‘ and ‘#FlyEaglesFly.’

Despite his loyalty to the Philadelphia Eagles, McElhenney found himself at the Emmy Awards for a different reason—his passion for Wrexham A.F.C. His dedication paid off as he secured an Emmy Award for Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program for his documentaries titled “Welcome To Wrexham.”

This triumph aligns with a significant moment for McElhenney and his co-owner, actor Ryan Reynolds, as Wrexham recently triumphed over Shrewsbury Town, advancing to the fourth round of the FA Cup. Reynolds, also engaged in the excitement, shared a photo with Australian actor Hugh Jackman during the game, humorously captioned ‘Watching @WrexhamAFC in the @EmiratesFACup with prisoner 24601,’ referring to Jackman’s role as Jean Valjean in the 2013 film adaptation of Les Misérables.

Looking ahead, Wrexham is set to face Blackburn at Ewood Park on January 29, adding another layer of anticipation to McElhenney’s celebratory moment.
